Engineering Technician 1/2

About the role

This position is 100% onsite and cannot accommodate telecommute work. It is located in Promontory, UT.

Responsibilities

• Work with experience technicians who operate test equipment including Instrons, pressure chambers, ovens, energetic safety testing equipment, and various other equipment.
• Testing will include analysis of production and subscale propellants and ingredients.
• Candidate will be expected to maintain a high standard of operational discipline to support clean, safe, and efficient operations.
• The selected candidate should thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, and collaborative/team settings across all levels.
• This role will report on-site daily to our Propulsion Systems location near Corinne UT. Some domestic travel may be required.
• Fabricate both inert and energetic samples in accordance with specific detailed instruction.
• Perform processes under the direction of a principle technician following written instruction to exact specifications.
• Maintain neat and accurate records.
• Will be required to wear personal protective equipment that includes but is not limited to smocks, coveralls, safety glasses, safety shoes and respirators.
• Will be responsible for hosting and demonstrating a monthly ‘energetics demo’ that is part of all EP employees training.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent and 0-2 years additional education and/or related experience for Level 1.
• High School diploma or equivalent and 2 years additional education and/or related experience for Level 2.
• Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret security clearance.
• Must be able to qualify for an Alcohol Tobacco and Firearm (ATF) “Explosives Possessor” designation.
• Must be able to qualify for a Department of Defense security clearance.
• Must be disciplined to follow detailed instructions and comply with procedures.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills to create clear and understandable documentation.
• Strong technical background in mechanics, electronics, or industrial machinery is a plus.
• Ability to receive and follow specific instructions from policies, procedures, planning and supervision.
• Good communication skills with the ability to understand and communicate technical information with clarity.
• Ability to read, interpret and implement technical drawings, specifications, and procedures.
• Computer skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and database applications.
• Able to obtain an Employee Possessor designation.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent and 0-2 years additional education and/or related experience for Level 1.
• High School diploma or equivalent and 2 years additional education and/or related experience for Level 2.
• Prefered associate degree in a technical field.
• Strong technical background in mechanics, electronics, or industrial machinery is a plus.
• Ability to learn and troubleshoot new software programs.
• Ability to work well in a team and independently.
