Job Description

Supports resort operations by performing maintenance tasks, including projects, preventive maintenance, and work orders.

As an Engineering Tech II, you will,

  • Perform engineering projects, guest calls, blitzes, and preventive maintenance as directed by resort management.
  • Troubleshoot plumbing issues, make repairs, and replace fixtures and piping as needed.
  • Diagnose, replace, and repair minor electrical components such as receptacles and ballasts.
  • Troubleshoot and repair appliances and household fixtures.
  • Understand HVAC systems and perform basic preventive maintenance and diagnostics.
  • Repair interior and exterior walls, wall coverings, and ceilings, including texturing, painting, and caulking.
  • Repair or replace tiles, grout, vinyl, and carpet as required.
  • Work with pools, spas, and water features, including chemical balancing and cleaning tasks.
  • Participate actively in procurement and inventory processes to ensure materials and tools are available for work.
  • Operate resort operations devices and software effectively (HotSOS and other applicable systems).
  • Communicate professionally through radios, phones, emails, and verbal interactions.
  • Perform maintenance and cleaning tasks as required by resort management.
  • Safely use hand tools, power tools, and battery-powered tools required for the job.
  • Work using ladders, scaffolding, lifts, and appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).
  • Follow safety guidelines and practices.
  • Recognize and identify potential safety hazards on the property.
  • Communicate and interpret guest needs through positive interactions toward resolution.
  • Adhere to all CFI/Westgate Resorts policies and procedures.
  • Always represent Westgate Resorts professionally through appearance, attire, and behavior.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by resort operations leadership.

Qualifications

  • A high school diploma is required.
  • A minimum of 1 to 3 years of hands-on experience in trades and maintenance within a resort or commercial environment is required.
  • A valid driver’s license is required.
  • A CPO (Certified Pool Operator) license as required by the resort is required.
  • Written and verbal communication in English is expected.
  • The team member must be self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work with enthusiasm and focus.
  • Strong communication skills are required to excel in interactions with guests and colleagues.
  • The ability to be versatile, work well under pressure, and meet deadlines is required.
  • The team member must regularly lift, move, push, or pull up to 50+ pounds.
  • The team member must communicate effectively with supervisors and resort leadership.
