Job Description
Supports resort operations by performing maintenance tasks, including projects, preventive maintenance, and work orders.
- Perform engineering projects, guest calls, blitzes, and preventive maintenance as directed by resort management
- Troubleshoot plumbing issues, make repairs, and replace fixtures and piping as needed
- Diagnose, replace, and repair minor electrical components such as receptacles and ballasts
- Troubleshoot and repair appliances and household fixtures
- Understand HVAC systems and perform basic preventive maintenance and diagnostics
- Repair interior and exterior walls, wall coverings, and ceilings, including texturing, painting, and caulking
- Repair or replace tiles, grout, vinyl, and carpet as required
- Work with pools, spas, and water features, including chemical balancing and cleaning tasks
- Participate actively in procurement and inventory processes to ensure materials and tools are available for work
- Operate resort operations devices and software effectively (HotSOS and other applicable systems)
- Communicate professionally through radios, phones, emails, and verbal interactions
- Perform maintenance and cleaning tasks as required by resort management
- Safely use hand tools, power tools, and battery-powered tools required for the job
- Work using ladders, scaffolding, lifts, and appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)
- Follow safety guidelines and practices
- Recognize and identify potential safety hazards on the property
- Communicate and interpret guest needs through positive interactions toward resolution
- Adhere to all CFI/Westgate Resorts policies and procedures
- Always represent Westgate Resorts professionally through appearance, attire, and behavior
- Perform other tasks as assigned by resort operations leadership
Qualifications
- High school diploma required
- Minimum of 1 to 3 years of hands-on experience in trades and maintenance within a resort or commercial environment
- Must be at least 18 years old and have a valid driver’s license to drive company golf carts
- Must be able to lift 50lbs and work in outdoor weather conditions
- Written and verbal communication in English is expected
- Able to be versatile, work well under pressure, and meet deadlines
- Able to communicate effectively with supervisors and resort leadership
