Job Responsibilities
- Supervise, and lead a team of 3 Broadcast Engineers, providing direction, support, and performance feedback.
- Cook up work schedules, assign tasks, and ensure timely completion of projects and maintenance activities.
- Foster a positive and productive work environment, promoting teamwork and professional development.
- Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of broadcast equipment, including transmitters, receivers, video servers, and audio processors.
- Ensure the timely troubleshooting and repair of equipment malfunctions, minimizing downtime and ensuring continuous broadcast operations.
- Monitor the quality and reliability of broadcast signals, ensuring compliance with FCC regulations and company standards.
- Collaborate and assist the Director of Engineering in designing, planning, and managing technical projects, such as system upgrades, new installations, and facility expansions.
- Collaborate with company departments, vendors, and contractors to procure and install new equipment.
- Provide advanced technical support to the engineering team and other departments, addressing complex issues related to audio, video, and signal transmission.
- Aid with the technical setup and operation of studio and control room equipment for live broadcasts and remote broadcasts.
- Maintain accurate records of equipment inventory, maintenance schedules, and technical documentation.
- Ensure all broadcast equipment and operations comply with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Develop and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the engineering team.
- Aid with training sessions for the engineering team to enhance their technical skills and knowledge.
- Aid with recruiting and hiring Broadcast Engineers.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned, including driving an automobile for company business.

Skills and Requirements
- Associate Arts Degree in electronics, military training, or trade school certificate preferred.
- Related experience will be evaluated by and may be substituted as years of education.
- 5+ years of experience in broadcast engineering, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of broadcast systems, including RF technology, digital video and audio standards, and IP-based broadcast solutions.
- Proficiency in using broadcast-related software and tools.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
- Knowledge of FCC regulations and industry standards.
- Society of Broadcast Engineers (SBE) Certification preferred.
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Strong Computer Skills (ex. Windows and Microsoft Office) and an understanding of Networking topography.
- Ability to make coaxial, ethernet, audio, and other cables.
- Ability to use CAD software is a plus.
- Comfortable working in various environments, including outdoor transmitter sites and confined studio spaces.
- Ability to work on occasion for extended periods of time without a scheduled break.
- Ability to climb a 20-foot ladder and perform work at various heights.
- Ability to practice safe conduct at various heights.
- Must have, or be able to obtain, a valid Oklahoma driver’s license and have a driving record acceptable to the company.
- Ability to perform under emotional stress.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds unaided.
- Ability to work rotating shifts and be on 24-hour call.
