Engineering Supervisor
About the role
The Engineering Supervisor will oversee preventive and ongoing maintenance at Delano Miami Beach, a luxury hotel set to open in early 2026. The role involves managing maintenance tracking systems, troubleshooting and repairing various systems, and ensuring all essential maintenance functions are performed.
Responsibilities
- Receive and respond promptly to maintenance requests from guests and departments.
- Conduct daily property walkthroughs to identify maintenance needs.
- Manage maintenance tracking systems (e.g., HotSOS, Nuvola).
- Troubleshoot and repair lighting, plumbing, and electrical systems.
- Repair mechanical equipment including HVAC units, chillers, pumps, boilers, cooling towers, and energy management systems.
- Work safely with electrical systems ranging from low to medium voltage.
- Operate lifts and climb ladders to access elevated work areas.
- Troubleshoot electrical controls, lighting dimming, motor controls, and UPS systems.
- Respond to fire alarms and life safety system alerts, coordinating with engineering staff for resolution.
- Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Maintain accurate records of preventive maintenance and service requests.
- Manage the preventive maintenance program to ensure timely completion and proper documentation.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure engineering support for service issues.
- Handle guest complaints professionally to ensure satisfaction.
- Assist other employees and departments to support overall hotel performance.
- We recognize we are in the hospitality industry and that may require us to provide lateral service.
- We will on occasion call for each individual in the team to, on a routine basis perform various related tasks as needed in the spirit of providing exceptional guest service.
Requirements
Essential qualifications include a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, proficiency in multiple building trades, and a valid driver's license. Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings is also required.
Qualifications
Must have a strong background in electrical, painting, carpentry, industrial plumbing, HVAC, kitchen appliances, swimming pools, and general mechanics. Must be able to operate lifts and climb ladders to access elevated work areas.
Skills
Proficiency in troubleshooting electrical controls, lighting dimming, motor controls, and UPS systems is necessary. Must be able to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings. Must be able to work safely with electrical systems ranging from low to medium voltage.
