About the role
Oura is seeking an experienced and highly organized Engineering Project Specialist (EPS) to support critical project operations that enable hardware product development and NPI execution.
Responsibilities
- Cook up day-to-day prototype operations, including shipping, receiving, storage, inventory management, distribution, re-distribution, and final disposition.
- Maintain chain-of-custody controls to ensure prototype traceability, accountability, and secure handling across internal and external touchpoints.
- Support global coordination for prototype movement across origins and destinations, including logistics providers, external partners, and internal stakeholders.
- Maintain inventory tracking mechanisms, reporting tools, and operating cadences that provide visibility into prototype location, status, history, and ownership.
- Support NPI engineering builds by helping develop EPS tools, templates, and operating cadences for engineering development and build execution across prototype, EVT, DVT, and validation phases.
- Build and maintain practical trackers, dashboards, workbooks, build support templates, and coordination mechanisms that improve execution, decision-making, and follow-through for engineering teams.
- Cook up build readiness and execution with engineering team and vendors, including support for build planning, material and prototype readiness, issue tracking, logistics coordination, and action closure around NPI builds.
- Identify process gaps, shipment risks, inventory discrepancies, readiness issues, and execution blockers early, and support corrective actions and continuous improvement.
- Provide hands-on support for in-office shipping, receiving, and prototype coordination activities as needed.
Requirements
- 3+ years of relevant experience in hardware project support, prototype operations, NPI build coordination, logistics, lab operations, supply chain operations, or related fields.
- Experience contributing to operational workflows, procedures, tools, or support models in a hardware development, lab, operations, or NPI environment.
- Strong project and project coordination skills, including the ability to work across cross-functional initiatives and multiple stakeholders.
- Experience with prototype shipping, inventory control, asset tracking, chain-of-custody processes, or similar operational systems.
- Strong ability to work across internal teams and external partners while driving clarity, follow-through, and accountability.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate operational requirements into clear and actionable guidance.
- Proficiency with Google Workspace, including Docs, Sheets, Slides, and related collaboration tools.
- Strong spreadsheet capability, including the ability to build and maintain effective Excel and Google Sheets workbooks.
- Comfort with emerging AI tools and the ability to apply them thoughtfully to improve workflows, reporting, or team efficiency.
Qualifications
- Experience working with contract manufacturers, logistics vendors, or other external operational partners.
- Familiarity with privacy, security, or controlled-access requirements for pre-release hardware.
- Experience supporting a newly defined role, process, or team capability as it scales.
- Experience using project management tools such as Jira, Confluence, or Smartsheet.

Pay
At Oura, we take a market-based approach to pay, which may vary depending on your location. US locations are categorized into tiers based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area. While most offers will be closer to the starting range, successful candidates' pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, internal peer equity, and market conditions.
Schedule
San Francisco in-office work is required. Up to 20% global travel is required for this position.
