Role Overview
The Specialist, Project Engineering supports complex export compliance efforts for defense programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct technical assessments to classify hardware, software, and export-controlled information according to U.S. regulations.
- Draft export Commodity Jurisdiction (CJ) and Classification Requests (CCR/CCATs) for submission to authorities.
- Review supplier and OEM classifications and assist engineering teams with "design for export" strategies.
- Collaborate with engineering, legal, and supply chain teams to ensure compliance and proper classification.
- Maintain knowledge of export regulations (ITAR, EAR), support training, and participate in team meetings and program reviews.
- Travel up to 10% as needed to support business operations.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor's degree with at least 4 years of relevant experience, or equivalent experience (8+ years).
- Experience in engineering, export control compliance, or project engineering with regulatory focus.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpretation skills.
- Knowledge of export classification processes, defense systems, and regulations (ITAR, EAR).
