About the role
The Senior Specialist, Trade Technical Specialist is responsible for managing complex export compliance efforts on defense programs.
Responsibilities
- Conduct technical assessments to classify hardware, software, and export-controlled information
- Prepare export classification requests
- Review supplier and OEM determinations
- Assist engineering teams with design for export
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure regulatory compliance
- Support training initiatives and participate in team and program meetings
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor's degree with at least 4 years of relevant experience, or equivalent experience
- Background in engineering, export control, or project engineering with regulatory focus
- Ability to obtain/maintain DoD Security Clearance
- Proficiency in export regulations (ITAR, EAR), Microsoft Office, and OCR EASE
- Strong organizational, verbal, and written communication skills
- Knowledge of defense technologies and classification processes
- Ability to interpret engineering documents
- Ability to support up to 10% travel
- Ability to work within a collaborative, compliance-driven environment
