Engineering Manager III

About the role

Provides overall engineering execution leadership on medium-sized projects or for a specific area on a large/mega project. This position has responsibility and accountability for the performance of the engineering team and the successful execution of all engineering work on the project. Leads and guides the development and implementation of the execution strategy, oversees engineering budget, schedule, and quality, and promotes Fluor’s competitiveness within the global marketplace by delivering quality services of unmatched value and technical competence.

Performs Engineering Management responsibilities on small to medium low-to-moderate risk EPFC/CM projects or services projects, or on an assigned segment of a larger project, including coordination of design activities. Manages interfaces between engineering disciplines, identifies critical tasks, and supports the execution strategy. Sets a positive project culture in conjunction with the Project Manager and Project Director.

Leads development of the Engineering component of overall project Scope of Services, Scope of Facilities, and other project baseline documents for all phases of projects. Leads or supports the development of the Project Execution Strategy for all engineering functions.

Responsibilities

• Overall/area responsibility and accountability for the performance of the engineering team and engineering execution and delivery as per the project baseline.
• Coordinate design activities and manage interfaces between engineering disciplines.
• Identify critical tasks and activities needed to support the execution strategy.
• Lead development of Engineering components for project baseline documents (Scope of Services, Scope of Facilities, etc.).
• Lead or support the development of the Project Execution Strategy for all engineering functions.
• Set a positive project culture in collaboration with the Project Manager and Project Director.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Accredited four-year degree or global equivalent in an engineering field of study and sixteen (16) years of work-related experience; a recognized professional certification or registration in the applicable field, if required. Some locations may have additional or different qualifications.
• OR accredited two-year degree or global equivalent in an applicable field of study and eighteen (18) years of work-related experience, or a combination of education and directly related experience equal to twenty (20) years if non-degreed.
• Ability to communicate effectively with management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and other stakeholders.
• Job-related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job.
• Strong leadership skills, customer focus, business acumen, influence, strategic agility, decision-making, personal accountability, ownership, and follow-through.
• Ability to translate strategy into actionable execution plans, attend to detail, and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner.
• Experience as Project Engineering Lead on FEED and Detail Design Projects.
• Professional registration and active participation in a technical society.

Pay

Salary range: $139,000.00 – $258,000.00. The market rate for the role is typically at the mid-point of the salary range; final salary is determined by candidate qualifications, relevant years of experience, geographic location, internal pay equity, and prevailing market conditions.
