About the Role

An Engineering Associate II prepares designs, specifications, and cost estimates following standard engineering practices and procedures. This role involves no supervisory duties and receives moderate supervision from a technical superior. Work is performed primarily in an office with minimal physical exertion and few hazards or discomforts.

Pay

Salary Range: $62,095.00 - $101,206.00 annually
Hiring Salary Range: $62,095.00 – $81,650.00 annually

Requirements

On or before the date of filing the application, each candidate must meet one of the following:

• Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a GED certificate AND two years of engineering design experience.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience.

Skills

• Knowledge of engineering design standards and procedures
• Ability to perform engineering design calculations
• Ability to estimate construction and material costs
• Ability to write engineering specifications
• Ability to establish satisfactory relationships with others
• Ability to write correspondence and technical reports

Additional Information

• Background Check: Eligible candidates under final consideration for positions of trust will be required to complete a criminal background check and/or fingerprinting.
• Probation: All selected candidates, including current City employees, must complete a mandatory six-month probation.
• Eligibility: Qualified candidates will be considered for vacancies for at least six months.
• Education Accreditation: Education must be obtained from an accredited institution. Foreign credentials must be evaluated for U.S. equivalency (www.naces.org).
