The co-op position is offered across our service territories (Five Boroughs of New York City and Westchester County), with placements based on business needs. As an Engineering Aide Temp, you will assist technicians and engineers in supporting safe, reliable, and cost-effective energy delivery across electric, gas, and steam commodities.

Responsibilities

  • Perform assignments in various departments to gain broad-based knowledge of Con Edison of New York’s structure and operations.
  • Network across the company and participate in volunteer events.
  • Provide administrative support, project management support, data collection and analysis, forecasting support, strategy development support, and other operational assistance based on department needs.
  • Assist in restoring service to customers during Company emergencies by performing a System Emergency Assignment.

Many co-ops join the company as full-time employees upon graduation through entry-level opportunities like the Leadership Development Program (LDP).

Requirements

  • Must be a full-time student enrolled in a four-year college program with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or greater.
  • Major in engineering or physics disciplines.
  • For Bachelor’s degree candidates: at least 30 college credits and upper sophomore status.
  • Strong work ethic, flexibility, and the ability to meet assignments.
  • Self-starter with high integrity, initiative, resourcefulness, and creativity.
  • Excellent analytical and interpersonal skills, with a high energy level.
  • Proficiency in software applications such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Program Details

This is a part-time paid co-op program that runs year-round, with durations ranging from a semester to longer. If your resume matches a specific department opportunity, the hiring team will contact you for an interview. Interviews use the behavioral events format, and the STAR (Situation, Task, Action, Results) response method is recommended.
