We are driving the transition towards a cleaner future by spearheading advancements in renewable energy production, transmission, and distribution. This cooperative (co-op) program offers hands-on experience with meaningful work while developing skills and building your network across our service territories (Five Boroughs of New York City and Westchester County). Placements will be based on business needs.

This is a part-time, paid program that may run the length of a semester or longer. Many co-ops join our company as full-time employees upon graduation through entry-level opportunities like the Leadership Development Program (LDP).

Responsibilities

  • Assist technicians and engineers in supporting safe, reliable, and cost-effective energy delivery to customers across electric, gas, and steam commodities.
  • Provide administrative support, project management support, data collection and analysis, forecasting support, strategy development support, and other operational support based on department needs.
  • Network across the company and participate in volunteer events.
  • Perform assignments in various departments to gain broad-based knowledge of Con Edison of New York’s structure and operations.

Requirements

  • Must be a full-time student enrolled in a four-year college program with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or greater.
  • Major in general studies, math, business, or other related fields.
  • For Bachelor’s degree candidates: must have at least 30 college credits and upper sophomore status.
  • Strong work ethic, flexibility, and ability to meet assignments.
  • Self-starter with high integrity, initiative, resourcefulness, and creativity.
  • Proficiency in software applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Excellent analytical and interpersonal skills.
  • High energy level and adaptability.

Additional Information

The selected candidate will be assigned a System Emergency Assignment (emergency response role) and may be required to work non-business hours during emergencies, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
