Engineered Systems Technician 3/4

About the Role

The Engineered Systems Technician supports high-power RF systems at a research facility, focusing on operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and upgrades of RF amplifier equipment used in particle accelerators.

Responsibilities

• Operate, maintain, and commission high-power RF and electrical systems.
• Troubleshoot and repair RF and electrical components.
• Assist in designing system upgrades and new equipment.
• Provide on-call support during off-hours and weekends.

Requirements

• Associate’s Degree in a related field with 3-5 years of experience.
• Additional training or certification may be required for higher levels.

Qualifications & Skills

• Experience with electronic test tools, schematics, and circuit prototyping.
• Knowledge of RF systems, high-voltage/high-power equipment, and cooling systems.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD or similar CAD programs.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Preferred experience with RF test equipment, soldering, and mechanical operations.
