Engineer- Telecommunications

About the role

K&A Power Group is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Engineer-Telecommunications to join our team in Rochester, New York. This role involves supporting capital projects that involve digitization and automation of various operations, including electric, gas, fossil hydro, process and technology, AMI, and control and automation systems.

Responsibilities

• Support project evaluation, feasibility, and planning reviews
• Conduct contract reviews (non-legal)
• Maintain oversight of construction progress
• Evaluate and ensure equipment and materials comply with specifications
• Participate in engineering design and planning reviews
• Analyze schedules and optimize them
• Assist with equipment commissioning and verification testing
• Review operational and maintenance aspects
• Perform cost/benefit analyses
• Report to customers based on technical and business competence

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology
• Two to five (2-5) years of engineering experience in the functional area
• Experience with Telecom projects
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Ability to research engineering and design issues, evaluate alternatives, and make sound recommendations

Qualifications

• Skilled in the practices of researching engineering and design issues, evaluating alternatives, making sound recommendations, and preparing and presenting recommendations
• Must be able to work in an office setting and report to the local office daily

• Proficiency in relevant software tools
• Strong problem-solving abilities
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
