Overview GovCIO is currently hiring for an Telecommunications Engineer to provide technical support to the Navy’s Fleet Submarine Very Low and Low-Frequency Broadcast Engineering Support team. This position will be located in Charleston, SC and will be an onsite position. Responsibilities Provides installation support, technical expertise, and troubleshooting for all telecommunications equipment and componentsSupport installation, configuration, termination, and testing for all telecommunications equipment, cables, connectors, and interfaces.Develop and provide solutions for fabrication and mounting requirements.Works with engineering team to provide input, maintain and update 3D Models for New and existing platformsSupport production team with integration design and equipment installations for cabinets and assembliesReview drawings for accuracy and required changes, provide markups to coordinate changes with the engineering teamGather technical requirements, conduct site surveys and engage with clients, constructions crews, utility personnel, and various government departments.Conduct analysis and provide recommendations for hardware, connectors and cable fabrication materials to support development for the Bill of MaterialsSupport the development of maintenance documentation and provide technical support in other areas.Travel to customer sites to trouble shoot and resolve equipment and system issuesUtilize test equipment to identify and repair systems and equipment issuesSupport Installation Design Package development, drawing reviews and provide proposed solutions for the designServes as a technical specialist for the resolution of complex fabrication designs. Qualifications High School with 6 - 9 years (or commensurate experience) Required Skills And Experience Clearance Required:SECRET Must have 9 years of experience with radio transmitters, antenna tuning systems, antennas, electromagnetic propagation and allied fields, to include: specialized experience with installation, test and evaluation of VLF/LF submarine broadcast transmitters. Must be willing to travel NINE (9) years of practical experience to include: Technical engineering support for C4ISR systems. Minimum 7 years of experience, including design, preparation and modification of engineering documents, and drawings. Understanding and/or experience desired in Allen Bradley Control Systems architecture, High Voltage RF, Corona Treatments, RF Tuning Networks Ability to interpret and implement electronic, electrical, mechanical, and installation schematics and drawings Proficiency in using miscellaneous test equipment such as oscilloscopes and signal generators Ability to design and fabricate metal and 3D Printed mounting fixtures Understanding of electrical and electronic theory Methodical engineering approach with exceptional attention to detail Outstanding communication skillsAbility to navigate and resolve ambiguity effectivelyMathematical aptitude Preferred Skills And Experience BS degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics or Physics and experience with high powered radio transmitters, antenna tuning systems, antennas, electromagnetic propagation and allied fields, to include: Systems Analysis, Systems Architecture, Systems/Equipment Support, Test and Evaluation, and Logistics support of C4ISR requirements Three (3) years of technical experience in support of installing, modifying, repairing or testing high power radio transmitting systems. Experience may be achieved simultaneously. Posted Salary Range: USD $90,000.00 - USD $100,000.00 /Yr.
