Engineer Staff II

Verdantas is seeking an Engineering Staff II at our Mentor, Ohio, location. This opportunity is ideal for recent graduates with 2 - 4 years of experience or emerging professionals ready to transition from academic learning to impactful, real-world engineering.

As an Engineering Staff II, you’ll be part of a collaborative team that values innovation, curiosity, and continuous growth. You’ll contribute to meaningful projects that drive municipal and infrastructure solutions, while gaining hands-on experience in design, development, and problem-solving.

What You'll Do

• Provide technical planning and design support on various utility projects that may include storm and sanitary sewer collection systems, water distribution, and various other civil engineering projects
• Prepare engineering calculations to support design
• Prepare design reports and construction plans using local and state standards
• Prepare construction plans using AutoCAD 3D Civil 3D
• Prepare plans and specifications for public bid
• Prepare/assist with permit submittals
• Prepare preliminary project cost estimates and evaluate quantities
• Assist with/review scope, budget, and schedule of new project tasks
• Document design changes and communications
• Conduct on-site inspections as needed
• Prepare project status and other reports
• Assist Project Managers
• Attend client, public, project and staff meetings including client progress, plan review, preconstruction, etc.

What You'll Bring

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution
• 2-4 years of experience in civil-site and municipal engineering
• Familiarity with HydroCAD or other stormwater modeling software is a plus
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, Civil 3D preferred
• EIT Preferred
• Familiarity with ArcGIS software is a plus

Salary Range

The compensation range starts at $70,000 and is based on the position, experience, and licensure.
