About the role
The Engineer reports to the Chief Operating Engineer, and like all qualified engineers, possesses the diverse knowledge of electrical, plumbing, steam, gas, fire & safety, and HVAC refrigeration. As a working engineer, this position is required to be hands-on and dive into the day-to-day operation, service and repairs of hotel equipment.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a good working relationship with other associates by promoting teamwork and fostering a harmonious working environment
- Handle routine maintenance, repairs and cleanliness in guest rooms, public spaces, event space, outlets, back of house spaces and grounds
- Demonstrate familiarity with the hotel’s safety systems and takes corrective action on any maintenance or operating problems which affect the security or operating condition of the hotel
- Participate in the room preventative maintenance program
- Repair and maintain physical structure of establishment and furnishings as needed
- Communicate with Chief Operating Engineer on projects as assigned
- Respond to all guest requests in a timely and personable manner
Requirements
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in building maintenance; previous experience as a hotel engineer preferred or comparable experience at an establishment such as apartment complex or office building
- Basic knowledge of refrigeration systems, electricity, HVAC, and plumbing, certifications are a plus
- Maintains a Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certification
- Proficiency of the English language in reading, writing and verbal communication
- Ability to sit, stand and walk for extended periods, bend, climb stairs and lift up to 50 lbs.

- Ability to work varied shifts, that may include days, nights, weekends, and holidays
