Engineer Manager Licensed 15 (Associate Region Engineer of Operations) - North Region

This position functions as a second-line professional manager of professional positions in a complex work area, assisting the Region Engineer in administering the Region. Responsibilities include administering and directing all activities of the Operations Section of the Region Office.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and assign available resources to accomplish work.
  • Select, train, and mentor staff in accordance with Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) laws and policies.
  • Identify, implement, and foster open communications within the Region, Transportation Service Centers (TSC), and central office.
  • Monitor productivity, accomplishments, expenditures, and conformance to department policies, guidelines, and Region objectives.
  • Provide Region administration and oversight in construction, operations, bridge management, maintenance, and emergency operations.
  • Perform field reviews, requiring possession of a valid driver’s license.

Requirements

  • Possession of a bachelor's degree in engineering.
  • Six years of professional experience equivalent to an Engineer, including:
    • Three years equivalent to an Engineer 12, Engineer Manager Licensed 12, or Engineering Licensed Specialist 12.
    • Two years equivalent to an Engineer Manager 13, Engineering Specialist 13, Engineer Manager Licensed 13, or Engineering Licensed Specialist 13.
    • One year equivalent to an Engineer Manager 14, Engineering Specialist 14, Engineer Manager Licensed 14, or Engineering Licensed Specialist 14.
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license, maintained throughout employment.
  • Possession of a registered professional engineering license as required by the State of Michigan, maintained throughout employment.
  • If applicable, submission of official college transcripts and/or foreign degree evaluation with your application.
  • Applicants with foreign degrees must have their academic credentials evaluated or converted into U.S. educational equivalents by an organization listed on the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services or the Association of International Credential Evaluators, Inc.

Pay

The salary range reflects the minimum through maximum rate of the Engineer Manager Licensed 15 position.
