Engineer III (Electrical)

About the role

This position provides engineering support to the Engineering and Operations Division, focusing on the design, specification, and evaluation of facilities and equipment for the generation, transmission, and distribution of electrical power. The role ensures reliable power supply to members and promotes efficiency through special projects, engineering calculations, and software development.

The Engineer III is responsible for fostering teamwork, communication, and cooperation within the department, across the organization, and with member systems to support PowerSouth’s goals.

Responsibilities

• Design facilities for the generation, transmission, or distribution of electrical power to ensure a reliable power supply.
• Review and write specifications for equipment used on PowerSouth’s system to meet industry standards.
• Perform engineering calculations using standard formulas or computer techniques to ensure proper design and operation of PowerSouth’s system.
• Complete special projects, such as evaluating equipment or developing software, to improve efficiency.
• Promote teamwork, group goals, and effective communication within the department, division, and across the organization.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
