Engineer II/III, #JR-00044

This position within the Public Utilities Department involves a variety of engineering duties and project management to support operations and the maintenance of public facilities. You will manage the design and construction of capital improvement projects, focusing on water and sanitary sewer systems, pump stations, force mains, and water distribution systems. As an integral team member, you will review construction plans to ensure adherence to department and city specifications and collaborate closely with engineering consultants.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Project Manager and Engineer-in-Charge for water, sanitary sewer, and stormwater projects, ensuring timely and on-budget design and construction
• Perform contract administration for design and construction projects
• Conduct field investigations and interpret contract requirements
• Prepare reports and maintain project documentation and records
• Coordinate and administer project work orders, bids, contracts, and invoices
• Perform infrastructure condition assessment and manage water and sewer infrastructure rehabilitation projects
• Coordinate with City Departments, Public Utilities Operations, and local and state agencies
• Provide engineering support for operation and maintenance of Public Utilities infrastructure
• Apply independent decision-making skills consistently

Requirements

This position will be filled as an Engineer II or an Engineer III, depending on qualifications.

Pay

• Engineer II: $71,739.20 to $111,146.00
• Engineer III: $83,033.60 to $128,710.40
