Engineer II / III

Qualifications

Vocational / Educational Requirement: Engineer II/III requires a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a closely related field.

• Engineer II – minimum two years of related, full‑time equivalent experience.
• Engineer III – minimum five years of related, full‑time equivalent experience.

Special Certifications and Licenses

• Valid driver’s license and a driving record that complies with City Driving Standards.
• Engineer II – Engineer‑In‑Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer (PE) license desired; state and/or city certification(s) may be required depending on position.
• Engineer III – Professional Engineer license required; a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) may be required depending on assignment; state and/or city certification(s) may be required.

Special Requirements

Employees may be expected to work hours in excess of their normally scheduled hours in response to short‑term department needs and/or City‑wide emergencies.
