Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the single point of contact for all new construction projects (commercial and residential), guiding customers through every phase—from design and planning to execution and close-out.
- Design a power delivery plan and prepare construction prints for each project utilizing engineering skills and several design tools.
- Cook up with internal departments, external partners, and stakeholders to facilitate timely and effective project delivery.
- Foster a team environment, working closely with colleagues to ensure seamless project progression and resolve challenges as they arise.
- Communicate proactively and professionally, keeping all parties informed and maintaining transparency throughout the project.
- Demonstrate strong follow-up skills, attention to detail, and a dedication to delivering outstanding customer experiences.
Basic/Required Qualifications
- Engineer II: Graduation from a four-year college or university with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET accredited program or state registration as a Professional Engineer. A Master's degree in engineering can be considered in lieu of the Bachelor of Science in Engineering degree. Minimum 2 years of engineering experience.
- Engineer III: Graduation from a four-year college or university with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET accredited program or state registration as a Professional Engineer. A Master's degree in engineering can be considered in lieu of the Bachelor of Science in Engineering degree. Minimum 4 years of engineering experience.
Additional Preferred Qualifications
- Electrical, Mechanical or Civil Engineering degrees preferred.
- Understanding of basic engineering theories and principles.
- Understanding of basic practices of researching engineering and design issues, evaluating alternatives, making sound recommendations and preparing and presenting recommendations.
- Ability to deal with a variety of individuals from various socio-economic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Passing grade on the Engineering Fundamentals Exam.
- Understanding of basic principles of project management.
- Experience in the utility industry.
- Department specific experience applicable to the hiring department.
- Experience with CAD software, PoleForeman, and/or Maximo.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
