About the Role

As an Engineer I, you will focus on auxiliary motors within the Rotating Equipment Services (RES) Engineering group. This team holds component and design responsibility for reactor coolant pumps, reactor coolant pump motors, shaft seals, auxiliary motors, and auxiliary pumps serviced by Westinghouse for the commercial nuclear power industry. Your work will include onsite refurbishment of plant equipment for Westinghouse OEM components and other manufacturers at the Waltz Mill facility in Madison, PA.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support for Westinghouse shop technicians, project engineers, and test engineers for all aspects of motor remanufacture at the Waltz Mill Service Center, including disassembly, inspections, repairs, reassembly, and testing.
  • Perform technical review of work instructions for motor remanufacture and testing at the Waltz Mill facility.
  • Disposition non-conformances generated during procurement of parts or execution of motor remanufacture activities, with consultation and support of a mentor.
  • Perform engineering tasks under the direction of a mentor, including design, analysis, emergent issues, vendor oversight, and document review.
  • Communicate the nature and status of work performed to all relevant partners.
  • Prepare technical input for proposals, including defining necessary repairs based on incoming and testing results.
  • Propose and initiate test programs and evaluate results.
  • Communicate areas for product and service improvements to management personnel.
  • Participate in customer and vendor meetings to present technical materials and justify services and product designs.
  • Perform work within established scope, budgetary, and schedule requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (mechanical, electrical, or industrial preferred), or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated experience making technical decisions based on applicable standards and engineering judgment.
  • Proficient in reading manufacturing drawings, piping, and instrumentation diagrams.
  • Ability to travel occasionally to supplier facilities, conferences, or customer sites up to 10%.

Pay

The base salary range for this position is $58,400.00 to $73,000.00 per year, dependent upon experience, qualifications, and skills.
