Who We’re Looking For Toyota’s Body Weld Department is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Engineer – Body Weld. The primary responsibility of this role is to manage technical operations, systems, and projects for a designated process area within the Body Weld Department. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the person in this role will support the Body Weld department's objective to ensure that all Safety, Quality, Productivity, and Cost targets are achieved and tracked KPI Management. What You’ll Be Doing Lead by “Safety First” mindset, Toyota Way, and Toyota Production Systems Principles.Support development and execution of annual plans aligned with company and department goals.Analyze KPI’s and identify / facilitate kaizen activity.Lead technical problem-solving activities related to process equipment and new technology integration.Support Production and Maintenance departments to solve systemic/process problems and implement countermeasure activities.Be a technical resource for production, maintenance, and quality to support manufacturing operations and standardization through documentation, training, and audits.Report to management, internal and external, on project statusCoordinate and manage supplier/contractor activity, including equipment specification, job scope, expectations, safety, and schedules.Conduct Feasibility Study and Risk Assessment's prior to process & engineering changes being made.Develop technical instructions to ensure quality requirements are met.Interact with outside groups (Stamping PE, Paint PE, Assembly PE, Facilities, etc.) What You Bring Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with minimum 6 months working experience in Production Engineering Role, or 3+ years of equivalent professional experience in Production EngineeringExperience with machine specification creation and implementation of equipment and/or process changesExperience writing technical specifications and/or proceduresExperience writing A3 cost justifications, cost reduction activities, and project managementExperience leading and coordinating problem solving activities related to KPIExperience using Microsoft Office Suite Application (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)Experience using Power Bi Analytical ToolExperience using AutoCAD or SolidWorksBe able and willing to work weekends & July / December holiday shutdowns as necessaryBe willing to travel up to 7% and work overtime up 19% based on business needs Added bonus if you have Experience leading/participating in cross-shop projects or problem-solving teamsRobot and/or Vision System Programing and/or PLC for machine programming experienceExperience using CAROTT 3Experience using SMS-Br and/or WinCMM or other CMM technologyCompletion of TBP (Toyota Business Practice) through PanelToyota experience and/or Body Weld experience What We’ll Bring During your interview process, our team can fill you in on all the details of our industry-leading benefits and career development opportunities.
