Energy Savings Assistance Field Trainer

About the role

The Energy Savings Assistance Program (ESAP) Field Trainer will provide training and technical assistance to weatherization contractors in PG&E's territory. ESAP is an income-based weatherization program aimed at helping qualifying residents improve the comfort, health, and safety of their homes through appliance upgrades and home repairs. This home-based position requires daily travel throughout the assigned territory and plays a crucial role in developing and executing contractor performance improvement strategies.

Responsibilities

• Lead and strengthen strategic contractor relationships, serving as a trusted advisor to advance program objectives.
• Engage with the program team to develop forward-looking strategies aligned with evolving goals, KPIs, regulatory environment, and market conditions.
• Develop and facilitate custom training initiatives to improve energy-efficient project installations and customer satisfaction.
• Perform ridealongs with contractors to reinforce training and address areas needing improvement.
• Collaborate with contractors to improve performance, resolve issues, and promote success.
• Promptly address and resolve program and contractor concerns to reinforce long-term collaboration.
• Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and project results.
• Analyze data, use standard email and Microsoft programs, client Salesforce portal, and submit electronic reports.
• Ensure quality customer education and contractor compliance with program standards.
• Observe proper and safe delivery and installation of measures in customer homes.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Must be located in Kern County, California.
• Ability to travel up to 80% locally within Kern County and potentially other parts of PG&E service territory.
• Valid California driver's license, clean driving record, and minimum level of automobile insurance.
• 2+ years of experience in the energy efficiency industry, with a solid understanding of the contractor landscape.
• Outstanding interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with diverse individuals and businesses.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
• Enthusiasm for sustainability, energy efficiency, and the mission of the organization.
• Natural Gas Appliance Testing Technician (NGAT) certified or willing to obtain certification once hired.
• Strong computer skills, including proficiency in MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and web-based applications.
• Interest in sustainability and passion for making a meaningful environmental impact.

Preferred Qualifications

• Inspection and training experience.
• Experience working in Salesforce-based CRM.
