Endoscopy Technician I - Full time
What You’ll Need To Apply
- Required Education: High school diploma (or equivalent)
- Preferred Education: Completion of a formal endoscopy technician training program.
- Required Experience: None at hire
- Competent in percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy (PEG), esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD), colonoscopies, and bronchoscopies within 180 days (six (6) months) post-hire.
- Required Certification/License/Registry: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- PREFERRED Certification/License/Registry: Endoscopy technician certification from the Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CPSPD), Society of Gastroenterology Nurses and Associates (SGNA), Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA), and/or the International Association of Healthcare Central Service Material Management (IAHCSMM).
- Nursing assistant certification.
What You'll Need To Do
- Functions under a registered nurse’s (RN’s) (i.e., RN/Nurse Manager, RN/Assistant Nurse Manager, RN/Clinical Nurse (JC: 030803), and/or RN/Flex Staff Nurse (JC: 032003)) oversight.
- Aids Doctors of Medicine (MDs) and RNs with all endoscopy procedures.
- Repositions patients on stretchers.
- Maintains an environment conducive to patients’ safety.
- Aids in admitting and discharging outpatients, including interviewing and documenting the same on charts.
- Reports to: RN/Assistant Nurse Manager (job code (JC): 030303) or RN/Nurse Manager (JC: 031001).
- Supervises: None
