Overview

Missouri Baptist Medical Center, an acute care hospital in St. Louis County, offers a full continuum of medical and surgical services, including heart care, cancer, women and infants, breast health, gastrointestinal, orthopedic, stroke, therapy, wound and pain management services. Role Purpose

Under the direction of an RN and/or physician, the Endoscopy technician assists with diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures, including transporting patients, disinfecting and processing equipment, preparing the procedure room, and assisting in patient care.

Responsibilities

• Processes instruments and equipment
• Orders and keeps inventory of supplies
• Maintains equipment
• Maintains database for endoscopy
• Keeps accurate statistics pertinent to endoscopy
• Transports patients
• Affords assistance to patients with changing
• Trains staff in areas specific to endoscopy instrument processing, supplies, and the maintenance of equipment

Minimum Requirements

• Education: High School Diploma or GED
• Experience: No Experience
