About the role
The End Line Maintainer will safely ensure that all end center equipment is maintained and operating to produce finished can lids which meet all process specifications.
Responsibilities
- Set-up and maintain all end center equipment—including the upender, unwinder, multi-die press, curler, liner, oven, bagging station, and conveyors.
- Set-up and service all support systems, such as compound supply, air, and vacuum systems.
- Inspect, orient, and load coils onto the unwinder, feeding them into the press.
- Manage the transfer of raw materials and finished products to and from the end center as needed.
- Conduct necessary quality checks to ensure the process meets standards, log data into the computer, visually inspect finished lids to verify compliance, and take corrective action if deficiencies are detected.
- Complete all required paperwork and documentation including process check sheets, logbooks, ESE, and maintenance check sheets.
- Assist in other production areas as needed to maintain a smooth flow of cans and lids through the plant.
- Maintain cleanliness of all work areas and follow all safety procedures and work practices.
- Perform other job-related duties as required or assigned.
Requirements
- Strong mechanical skills, including working knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulics.
- Working knowledge of multi die press set-up and operation.
- Knowledge and understanding of quality lid specifications.
- Basic knowledge of plumbing and electrical components.
- Ability to use precision measurements devices such as calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, and feeler gauges.
- Ability to safely operate production forklift and maintain certification.
- Knowledge of safety regulations which apply to work functions.
