About the role
Front End Maintainers are responsible for initiating the can making process, including setup, operation, and maintenance of the cupping press, body makers, trimmers, and conveying systems.
Responsibilities
- Inspect, upend, and load coils onto the unwinder, ensuring proper feeding through the lubricator and into the press.
- Perform setup, maintenance, and operation of the upender, unwinder, lubricator, and cupping press.
- Oversee the setup, maintenance, and operation of body makers, trimmers, and conveying systems.
- Monitor and record can specifications in the system, including flange wall thickness, mid-wall thickness, dome depth, and trim can height.
- Conduct visual inspections and cup weight checks to ensure compliance with production standards.
- Take corrective measures as necessary to maintain quality.
- Assist in other production areas as needed to ensure can flow through the plant.
- Complete required paperwork, including coil logs, check sheets, and other documentation.
- Perform other job-related tasks as assigned.
