EMT - Red Bay - PRN - Shift Varies

Responsibilities

• Affirms nature and extent of illness or injury to establish and prioritize medical procedures.
• Administers initial treatment at emergency scene and takes and records patient’s vital signs.
• Maintains good driving status and insurable driving status.
• Communicates with hospital/TCC personnel via HEMSI-approved methods.
• Maintains up-to-date credentials regarding licensing and protocol changes.
• Documents patient care in all HEMSI-approved reporting methods.
• Observes and adheres to safety and security procedures for vehicle and station.
• Maintains unit in constant readiness through supplies and equipment restocking.
• Cleans and performs minor maintenance on emergency vehicle.
• Maintains a clean and orderly vehicle and station.
• Aids in directing and coordinating additional personnel on scene, including volunteers.
• Faithfully reports to work and maintains acceptable attendance.
• Provides excellent customer service to patients and family members.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
• Licenses/Registrations: State of Alabama EMSP License as EMT. Valid and current driver’s license.
• Certifications: Healthcare Provider CPR Certification upon hire or within a provisional period.
