Job Summary
As an Emergency Department (ED) Paramedic, you’ll be a crucial member of the emergency team, delivering skilled, timely care when every second counts. You’ll use your expertise and quick decision-making to gather critical details, perform treatments safely, and maintain a safe, dignified environment for every patient. Your collaboration with ED personnel will keep care moving smoothly and directly impact patient outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Stay in continuous communication with providers, nurses, and EMS to ensure seamless patient handoffs and smooth, coordinated care
- Monitor vital signs, document clearly, and deliver treatments with precision and accuracy
- Perform tests, administer medications, and administer therapies and interventions confidently within your scope
- Respond rapidly in emergencies, identify patient needs early and help manage pain
- Keep patient areas safe and organized by managing equipment and addressing any potential hazards
Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited school for paramedics or completion of Emergency Technician program
- Current Florida License as Paramedic or Emergency Medical Technician
- Current BLS Certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Current ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Current PALS certification issued by the American Heart Association; or agreement to obtain by completion of 6 months of employment
- Completion of Basic Arrhythmia course with a minimum of 16 hours of didactic instruction preferred
- Nonviolent Crisis Intervention must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
