About the role

As our EMT, you will perform essential general patient care, meticulously following established clinic workflows to ensure efficient and high-quality service delivery within an outpatient setting.

Responsibilities

• Complete comprehensive patient intake duties, including obtaining vital signs, verifying allergies and medications, and documenting reasons for visits
• Collect and prepare specimens
• Administer ordered medications and vaccines
• Clean and sterilize instruments
• Ensure exam room readiness and meticulously complete safety checklists
• Escalate any non-routine issues promptly
• Accurately fill out test requisitions, checking off and indicating time ordered; prioritize calls to ancillary departments to avoid "bottleneck" in the E.D.
• Maintain the E.D. directional board
• Prioritize new and current patients for physician using Physician Triage Rack
• Maintain yearly monitor tech certification; mount monitor strip on nurse's notes for all patients placed on a monitor; notify R.N. of changes on monitor
• Display professional phone protocol, identifying department and name; be aware of legal limitations of role (does not take M.D. orders, never refuses E.R. treatment to caller); use courteous, respectful tone
• Maintain E-log in Meditech and complete patient departure in Meditech

Requirements

• High School Graduate General Studies or High School GED General Studies
• Emergency Medical Technician: CA EMT
• Basic Life Support - CPR BLS, within 30 Days

Pay

$26.04 - $30.95 /hour
