About the role

The American Medical Response (AMR) Erlanger, KY EMT Academy offers a unique opportunity for individuals interested in a rewarding career in pre-hospital medicine. The academy trains individuals to become Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs).

Responsibilities

• Provide basic emergency medical care and transportation for critical and emergent patients.
• Function as part of a comprehensive EMS response under medical oversight.
• Perform interventions with the basic equipment typically found on an ambulance.
• Be a link from the scene to the emergency health care system.

Requirements

• At least 18 years old.
• Proof of a high school diploma or GED.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• All required immunizations.
• Successfully complete the pre-employment screening, including motor vehicle and criminal background checks, drug testing, and a physical agility test.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge and skills necessary to provide patient care and transportation.
• Completion of the EMT National Registry and local area protocols exam.
• Work for AMR-Erlanger for at least one full year and assigned their full-time shift.
• Complete new employee training.

Class meets Monday through Friday from 9am to 4pm.
