About the role
The EMS Training Officer is responsible for the education resource for operations of clinical and pre-hospital coworker education systems at Parkview Health. Performs as a key member of patient care report audit and review and the Peer Review process. Is a key member of the team in technology management, documentation, customer support, and technical assistance to assure the continuity of the pre-hospital patient care.
Responsibilities
- Procures equipment and updates and maintains educational materials to ensure all media and material are evidence-based and reviewed by clinical experts within Service Line specialty arena.
- Ongoing monitoring, troubleshooting issues, and providing solutions toward resolution.
- Utilizes clinical support systems to assist in monitoring, auditing, and ensuring documentation integrity in PCR related to patient education.
- Collaborates with the EMS Manager and EMS Medical Director(s) to develop policies and procedures regarding pre-hospital education systems.
Requirements
- Associate degree in Paramedic Science or healthcare related field preferred; or a combination of three years pre-hospital care experience and demonstration of ability to consistently achieve results and assigned tasks significantly better than established measures.
- Maintain a current EMT-Paramedic license/certification.
- Maintain a current Primary Instructor certification.
- Maintain a current and valid Indiana driver's license.
Qualifications
- Three years experience as an EMT-Paramedic.
- One year experience as a Primary Instructor.
Other Qualifications
- Demonstrate insurability under PHS vehicle and liability insurance policies, without a "Driver's exclusion", and/or other insurance modifications, and/or "High Risk" classification.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
