EMS Technician

About the Role

This HVAC/EMS position works with minimal supervision in performing Journeyman Level work in the operation, maintenance, and repair of large modern HVAC, refrigeration, heating systems, equipment, and Energy Management Systems (EMS). The role includes minor installation and construction tasks as assigned to maintain functional and safe buildings and property. The HVAC/EMS Mechanic is responsible for responding to and resolving all energy management and HVAC issues and concerns.

Responsibilities

• Learn and perform proper installation practices.
• Understand different types of network communication (e.g., Modbus, Echelon, 485).
• Apply best wiring and grounding practices.
• Understand EMS components.
• Perform diagnostics to detect malfunctions and defects in equipment.
• Troubleshoot to ensure systems function properly following repairs.
• Effectively communicate and update all information regarding assignments to the team.
• Complete all paperwork properly.

Requirements

• High school diploma.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Excellent communication skills (reading, writing, speaking).
• Strong mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to use hand and power tools.
• Experience in installing controls.
• Ability to complete work in a timely manner.
• Understanding of all EMS components.
• Travel required.
• Honest team player with a growth-oriented mindset and ability to work safely in any situation.

Preferred Qualifications

• Brazing experience.
• EPA certification.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

• Regularly required to stand, walk, climb, carry, bend, kneel, reach, push, and pull.
• Occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
• Noise level is medium/low.
