Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, and instruct or coordinate educational programs for the EMS Program, including initial and ongoing continuing education for ALS and BLS.
- Coordinate the paramedic student program in conjunction with area colleges.
- Maintain files for all education and student orientation.
- Accomplish strategic and operational goals and initiatives within the program and organization to enhance clinical competence, professional development, quality, and patient safety.
- Align with Illinois Department of Public Health Emergency Management Systems guidelines for clinical educator/coordinator.
Qualifications
- Three to five years’ experience in the IL EMS field required.
- Previous IL EMS teaching experience preferred.
- Emergency driving experience required.
- IDPH/NREMT licensure as EMT-Paramedic.
- Obtained or ability to obtain IDPH Lead Instructor Licensure.
- Current American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification (Instructor preferred).
- Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support or Pediatric Education for Prehospital Providers Certification (Instructor preferred).
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Associate Degree and successful completion of an EMS Academy-approved NAEMSE instructor course and teaching internship, or equivalent.
- Bachelor’s Degree in healthcare-related field preferred.
Pay
A reasonable compensation estimate for this role is $45.00 per hour. The exact starting compensation will be determined based on factors such as skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials, and licensure.
