About the role
EMS Driver responsible for providing high-quality emergency transportation to patients.
Responsibilities
- Respond to dispatched calls promptly
- Inspect ambulance before shifts, checking fluids and reporting repairs
- Maintain medical supplies and ensure ambulance cleanliness
- Assist patients onto gurneys and load/unload them safely
- Sanitize vehicle and dispose of medical waste properly
- Administer first aid, including bandaging, splinting, and oxygen therapy
- Keep detailed driving logs, noting patient info, travel times, and services
- Report accidents to medical personnel and police if needed
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED
- Minimum two years' ambulance driving experience preferred
- Valid NYS Driver’s License
- American Heart Association BLS certification
- Physical ability to perform medium work, including lifting and standing
Pay
Compensation ranges from $17.00 to $18.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
Schedule
The role involves variable hours, requiring readiness for emergency response.
