About the Role
The EMS Driver provides high-quality emergency transportation for sick and injured patients, responding promptly to dispatched calls.
Responsibilities
- Respond to emergency calls and assist patients onto gurneys for transport
- Inspect ambulance before shifts, ensuring proper fluid levels and reporting repairs if needed
- Maintain and restock medical supplies and ensure cleanliness and sanitation of the vehicle
- Administer basic first aid, including bandaging, splinting, and oxygen therapy
- Keep detailed driving logs with patient and service information
- Report accidents to medical and police personnel when necessary
- Adhere to continuing education and department-specific care standards
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED
- Minimum two years’ ambulance driving experience preferred
- Valid NYS Driver’s License
- Certifications: AHA BLS
- Physical ability to perform medium work, including walking, standing, and lifting up to 50 pounds
Pay
$17.00 - $18.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications
