About the role

Opportunity Partners is a respected nonprofit in the Twin Cities area that provides award-winning services for adults with disabilities. As an Employment Specialist II, you will play a crucial role in helping individuals secure and maintain independent employment within the East Metro: North St Paul, Woodbury, and St Paul community.

Responsibilities

  • Assist individuals with securing community-based employment according to their preferences and as agreed in the Employment Plan.
  • Assess and document the need for support/training and provide on-site training according to the individuals' preferences and needs.
  • Provide case management to ensure services are initiated, provided, evaluated, and communicated effectively both internally and to IDT members.
  • Develop and coordinate a support plan that identifies the employment strengths to make people with disabilities successful in their independent employment.
  • Market services to potential employers to assist people with disabilities in obtaining and securing community-based independent employment.
  • Market services to both external and internal referral sources to obtain referrals for placement and other related services.
  • Complete intake and annual paperwork to meet billing requirements.
  • Aid in developing and enhancing work skills in real-life situations for our people with disabilities.
  • Bring meaning to their lives by having a job that they enjoy.
  • Grow and develop their social skills.

Requirements

  • A valid driver's license.
  • One year of full-time work experience providing direct care services to persons with disabilities or persons aged 65 and older, or equivalent work experience providing care or education to vulnerable adults or children, with a designated coordinator having a baccalaureate degree in a field related to human services, education, or health.
  • Two years of full-time work experience providing direct care services to persons with disabilities or persons aged 65 and older, or equivalent work experience providing care or education to vulnerable adults or children, with a designated coordinator having an associate degree in a field related to human services, education, or health.
  • Three years of full-time work experience providing direct care services to persons with disabilities or persons aged 65 and older, or equivalent work experience providing care or education to vulnerable adults or children, with a designated coordinator having a diploma in a field related to human services, education, or health from an accredited postsecondary institution.
  • A minimum of 50 hours of education and training related to human services, education, or health and four years full-time work experience providing direct care services to persons with disabilities or persons aged 65 and older, or equivalent work experience providing care or education to vulnerable adults or children, with a designated coordinator having the necessary qualifications under the supervision of a staff person who meets the designated coordinator qualifications listed above.

Benefits

Opportunity Partners offers a competitive wage range of $19.00 to $20.25 per hour based upon years of experience, along with a supportive work environment and opportunities for professional growth.

Schedule

Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
