About the role
Join our team as an Employment Specialist II and help individuals with disabilities and disadvantages discover their strengths, achieve their goals, and find meaningful employment in the Mankato area. This role involves coaching, training, and supporting a caseload of clients, collaborating with employers and community partners, and serving as a positive, skillful representative of our organization.
Responsibilities
- Perform employment activities for a caseload of 30+ clients, including receiving referrals, skill-training, employment assessment, placement, and follow-along.
- Complete and maintain client paperwork and billing as required by licensing, accreditation, and agency policies.
- Develop and maintain relationships with clients, team members, funding sources, employers, and community members.
- Facilitate job skills training programs.
- Maintain a professional network knowledgeable about multiple industries.
- Prioritize competing relationships to meet all customer needs.
- Utilize technology to ensure timely communication.
- Serve as an ambassador for MRCI in community functions, presentations, and involvement.
- Work independently or remotely while collaborating with a team and meeting personal goals.
- Transport clients in a company-provided vehicle.
Requirements
- A High School diploma or equivalent or an Associate’s degree, plus two years of related work experience or a Bachelor’s Degree in a field related to service provision, plus one year of related work experience working with persons with developmental disabilities or related conditions.
- Must live within 25 miles of the designated service area (Mankato).
- Must have a valid driver’s license with reliable transportation and the ability to drive.
- Must pass a background check through the Department of Human Services.
Skills
- Preference for individuals with a proven successful history in group facilitation and one-on-one training.
- Self-management skills and practical understanding of business acumen.
- Sales or customer service experience preferred.
- Sensitivity to the needs of individuals with disabilities.
- Excellent communication skills with clients and customers.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in computer-based office software.

Pay
$20.44–$25.44 per hour (DOE).
Schedule
Monday–Friday, 8:00am–4:30pm (with occasional evening/weekend flexibility).
Full-time, on-site position.
