Employment Services Lead

Working under the overall direction of the Director of the Employment Alliance, the Employment Services Lead combines leadership and direct support tasks to advance the mission, vision, and values of Heritage Christian Services, Inc.

Pay rate: $25.86 - $28.11 per hour. The salary of the finalist will be set based on departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training.

Leadership Responsibilities

  • Provide direct oversight and support to assigned employment specialists, including mentoring, coaching, training, caseload management, records maintenance, billing, quality reviews, and communication with support teams and funders.
  • Support employment specialists with crisis management, workplace conflicts, and barriers to services.
  • Build and maintain relationships with community partners, including OPWDD, ACCES-VR, NYS Commission for the Blind, businesses, agencies, and school personnel.
  • Perform administrative tasks as directed by supervisor, such as billing audits, compass reviews, scheduling, and other duties.

Direct Support Responsibilities

  • Support individuals with disabilities both on and off the job site, developing work-related skills or providing pre-employment/assessment services.
  • Use a variety of teaching techniques to assist individuals in achieving job success.
  • Work with the person receiving services, employer, and co-workers to build positive working relationships.
  • Complete and submit required documentation, whether handwritten or electronic.
  • Identify and implement safeguards at job sites to ensure the safety of individuals receiving services.
  • Maintain communication with individuals receiving services, their support teams, and the Director of Employment Alliance as needed.
  • Protect the privacy of individuals’ personal information in accordance with HIPAA, including secure storage of documentation during non-working hours.
  • Attend all scheduled training required by Heritage Christian Services.
  • Participate in staff meetings and training sessions, implementing new procedures as communicated by the Director of the Employment Alliance.

Training Required

  • OPWDD: Supported Employment (SEMP) Training
  • ACCES VR: Complete required trainings as outlined in the CRS Guidelines

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in education, human services, business, or a related field strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of a high school diploma and 3 years’ experience in a relevant field.
  • Leadership experience is desirable.
  • Valid driver’s license that meets Heritage Christian Services’ motor vehicle record standards, and reliable transportation to and from work.
  • Ability to work a rotation of shifts, including flexible scheduling.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Experience working with diverse populations is highly desirable.
  • Experience working with people with disabilities is preferred.
  • Strong communication skills to support the growth and development of individuals receiving services.
