Experience
- 8+ years of employer-side employment law experience in a law firm setting (or equivalent mix of firm and in-house with a return to private practice).
- Demonstrated success originating and managing client relationships, including scoping, budgeting, and overseeing teams.
- Substantive background across a range of employer issues, such as:
- Counseling: handbooks/policies, wage-and-hour compliance, accommodation/leave, discipline/terminations, investigations, training.
- Agency and litigation: EEOC/FEPA responses, DOL audits, single-plaintiff litigation, restrictive covenants/trade secrets; class/collective actions a plus.
- Agreements: employment, separation, incentive/bonus, restrictive covenants.
Portable Practice (Required)
- A portable book of business is required. Typical target range: $300K–$800K+ in realizable originations (open to discussion based on rate mix, industry concentration, and growth plan).
- Demonstrated ability to transition and expand existing client relationships within a new platform.

- Strategic thinker with a pragmatic, solutions-oriented approach to employer risk.
- Team leadership: ability to mentor associates, manage matters efficiently, and leverage staff effectively.
- Strong project management: budgeting, staffing, process improvement, and use of legal tech tools.
- Commitment to collaboration, knowledge sharing, and high-quality work product.
Licensing
- Licensed and in good standing in Florida or Georgia
- Dual admission (FL and GA) or eligibility to obtain additional admission is a plus.
Preferred Experience
- Advising regional employers (healthcare, manufacturing, logistics, financial services, municipalities, higher ed).
- Experience with wage-and-hour audits/litigation, restrictive covenant enforcement/defense, or employment aspects of transactions (due diligence, integration).
- Demonstrated success cross-selling with corporate, real estate, or litigation partners.
