Responsibilities
- Represent firm clients or clients brought by partner in employment-related matters, including counseling, litigation, mediation, and arbitration.
- Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents.
- Provide counsel to employers and employees on employment law issues such as discrimination, harassment, wage and hour compliance, and workplace policies.
- Manage litigation matters from start to finish.
- Participate in client meetings, court appearances, and negotiations.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the Virginia State Bar (or eligibility for admission).
- 7 years of experience in employment law preferred.
- Experience representing clients in both federal and state court litigation.
- Excellent writing, research, and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple cases, associates and deadlines effectively.
- Ability to work from the Norfolk, Tysons or Richmond office.
- At least a partial portable book of business is preferred.
