Key Responsibilities
- Provide labor & employment support in M&A transactions, including due diligence, risk assessment, and deal structuring
- Advise clients on employment-related compliance issues under federal, state, and local laws
- Draft and negotiate:
- Employment agreements
- Restrictive covenant agreements
- Separation and retention agreements
- Executive compensation and related documents
- Review and advise on employee policies, handbooks, and workplace practices
- Counsel clients on employment law risks related to corporate transactions and business operations
Qualifications
- JD from an accredited law school
- Active law license (Illinois preferred; open to other states)
- 5-8 years of experience, ideally in labor & employment with transactional exposure
- Strong understanding of employment laws, including:
- Title VII, ADA, ADEA, FLSA, and state equivalents
- Experience supporting M&A or corporate transactions strongly preferred
- Excellent drafting, analytical, and communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
