Employment Defense Attorney

Responsibilities
- Defend employers in employment-related litigation and administrative proceedings
- Handle matters before federal and state courts and administrative agencies (e.g., EEOC, DOL, state fair employment agencies)
- Conduct legal research, draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and discovery
- Take and defend depositions; prepare witnesses
- Participate in mediations, arbitrations, and settlement negotiations
- Advise employers on compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws
- Draft and review employment policies, handbooks, agreements, and contracts
Qualifications
- JD from an accredited law school
- Active bar admission in California
- 5+ years of experience practicing employment law on the defense side
- Strong knowledge of federal and state employment laws and regulations
- Litigation experience, including motion practice and discovery
