Responsibilities

  • Represent employers in single-plaintiff employment litigation matters, including wrongful termination, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and wage and hour disputes.
  • Aid in the defense of class and collective actions on an as-needed basis.
  • Conduct legal research, draft pleadings, motions, and discovery responses, and prepare cases for hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trial.
  • Communicate with clients, provide risk assessments, and develop case strategies aligned with business objectives.
  • Attend depositions, mediations, settlement conferences, and court hearings.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and partners on complex matters, while taking ownership of assigned cases.
  • Gain hands-on experience in trial preparation and trial advocacy as opportunities arise.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Active bar license in California.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in employment defense litigation.
  • Familiarity with California employment laws and federal employment regulations.
  • Strong research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines in a high-volume environment.
  • Excellent communication and client service skills.
