The Employment Attorney will manage a diverse caseload, focusing on issues such as wrongful termination and discrimination under the Fair Employment and Housing Act (FEHA). Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of 50-60 individual employment cases
- Handle matters related to FEHA, retaliation, discrimination, and disability
- Draft complaints and engage in direct communication with clients
- Oversee discovery processes with paralegal support
- Conduct depositions and prepare for trial
- Participate in mediations and arbitrations
- Prepare and file motions with assistance from paralegals
- Attend court appearances and ensure thorough case management from start to finish
Requirements
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in individual employment law, including wrongful termination and FEHA
- Experience with discovery review and document assembly
- Proficient in taking and defending depositions
- Experience in mediation and settlement processes
- Plaintiff experience is strongly preferred
- Active California bar membership is required
- Trial experience is preferred
