Job Summary
The Employee Services (ES) Program & Policy Specialist is responsible for the design, structure, and continuous improvement of ES policies, programs, and processes. This role ensures policies and programs are well-structured, compliant, scalable, and effectively support consistent decision-making across the organization.
Responsibilities
- Own and manage all Employee Services (ES) policies, programs, and employee-facing resources, including the employee handbook, company-wide and business-line workplace policies, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Ensure ES policies, programs, and documentation comply with applicable federal, state, and local employment laws; monitor regulatory changes and drive updates as needed.
- Establish and maintain standards for policy and SOP development, review, approval, version control, and retention, ensuring strong structure and oversight.
- Identify gaps, risks, and inconsistencies in policies and programs and lead improvements to enhance clarity, effectiveness, and operational alignment.
- Evaluate policy and program effectiveness and implement updates based on feedback, trends, and business needs.
- Maintain ES policy and program content across the intranet, HRIS, and related resource platforms, ensuring accuracy and accessibility.
- Partner with ES leadership, Legal, company leadership, and ES teams to interpret requirements and translate them into clear, practical, and scalable guidance.
- Provide policy interpretation and ensure consistent application across teams, supporting sound and aligned decision-making.
- Equip ES teams and people leaders with the tools, documentation, and resources needed to apply policies and programs effectively.
- Lead communication strategies for new or updated ES policies, programs, and processes to drive awareness and adoption.
- Design and deliver training and supporting materials related to ES policies, programs, and processes as needed.
- Facilitate training sessions to reinforce understanding and support implementation during key rollouts or updates.
Qualifications
Experience
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in Employee Services, Human Resources, employee relations, compliance, or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience writing, maintaining, and applying employment policies, employee handbooks, and workplace procedures.
- Experience interpreting and applying federal, state, and local employment laws in a multi-site or multi-state environment.
- Experience developing and maintaining standard operating procedures (SOPs) and structured process documentation.
- Experience designing and delivering training programs, including facilitation for leaders or ES professionals.
- Experience supporting or partnering with regional or field-based ES/HR teams.
- Experience collaborating with Legal and business leaders on policy interpretation and risk considerations.
