Employee Relations Supervisor

Collaborate with managers to address employee relations challenges, resolve complaints, conduct investigations, and manage conflict. Focus on developing leadership skills, strategic workforce planning, and supervising a small team.

Responsibilities

  • Understand Quaker's process for resolving employee relations or compliance issues
  • Collaborate with managers on performance management, policy interpretation, and workplace concerns
  • Utilize conflict resolution techniques
  • Assist in resolving complaints, conduct investigations, and manage conflict resolutions in accordance with company policies
  • Partner with the Benefits and Legal Teams to manage Family and Medical Leave Act cases and accommodations
  • Support Human Resources policy development
  • Learn and apply strategic workforce planning principles in collaboration with HR leadership
  • Lead team members in achieving departmental objectives and maintaining high standards of performance
  • Monitor the work of others to ensure efficient and effective activities
  • Support and enforce safety and compliance standards across HR functions
  • Review and analyze data concerning employee relations to identify trends and opportunities
  • Assist in establishing employee relations standards, including procedures for investigations and follow-ups
  • Plan, prioritize, and monitor employee relations activities
  • Oversee the completion of assigned tasks/projects in a timely manner
  • Observe safety and security policies and procedures, including proper use of Personal Protective Equipment
  • Interact and communicate with employees and customers appropriately
  • Prepare reports, work schedules, and communicate via email

Supervisory Responsibility

  • Assign and check the work of others
  • Monitor staff performance and employee retention
  • Train employees, provide performance feedback, and complete any necessary correction or discipline
  • Involvement in hiring, salary adjustments, employee grievances, and terminations for their team
  • Assist in determining means, methods, and materials for performing work

Travel

Approximately 5-10% travel is required to commute between Quaker campuses for meetings, employee interactions, or professional development.

Requirements

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office software: Excel, Word, Outlook
  • Proficient knowledge of a Human Resources Information System
  • Proficient knowledge of state and federal laws governing Human Resources
  • Comprehensive understanding of QWP's Employee Handbook

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Associate's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Human Resources; exposure to employee relations is preferred
  • Prior experience in window & door manufacturing preferred
  • Supervisory experience preferred

Schedule

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday during normal business hours. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Physical Demands

  • Primarily an office job with frequent sitting; largely sedentary role
  • Ability to climb stairs, lift files, open filing cabinets, bend, or stand as necessary
  • Occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
  • May occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
  • Vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
  • Must work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner

Work Environment

  • Primarily in an office setting
  • Visits to the factory may expose the employee to climactic variations, various levels of vibration, and moving mechanical parts
  • Noise level in the office is usually low, but hearing protection may be required for prolonged visits to certain parts of the factory
