Employee Experience and Engagement Intern
Weekly work hours: 19.5. FLSA status: Non-Exempt. This is an on-site role; after six months, employees may apply for a hybrid work schedule.
About the role
An internship offered by Dallas College to provide individuals practical work experience and knowledge in their field of interest related to their degree. Interns shadow and receive training from knowledgeable professionals under close mentorship, undertaking ongoing activities and projects of varying complexity that require expertise gained through higher education. Interns work as part of a professional team, interacting with colleagues and stakeholders in planning, implementing, and executing assigned tasks.
Responsibilities
- Shadow multiple office personnel and train in a variety of tasks.
- Attend company functions and networking events.
- Respect the organization’s reporting structure and follow policies and procedures.
- Perform clerical duties such as answering phone inquiries, directing calls, maintaining files, organizing documents, photocopying, and faxing as needed.
- Assist in researching, gathering documentation, and preparing information and research materials; may create and maintain PowerPoint presentations.
- Manage databases and input information, data, and records.
- Communicate with supervisor about issues affecting performance; accept and apply critiques and suggestions to improve productivity and efficiency.
- Ensure timesheets are complete and submitted on time.
- Tackle new projects and ideas with enthusiasm.
- Display excellent interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with diverse stakeholders and constituents.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
- High school degree or equivalent.
- Must be enrolled in an accredited university/college program pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in a related field.
- Official transcripts will be required.
- No prior work experience required.
Physical Requirements
- Normal physical job functions performed within a standard office environment.

- Occasionally required to lift and carry materials weighing up to 30 pounds.
Pay
Hourly rate: $23.78.
Schedule
- Part-time, up to 19.5 hours per week depending on business needs.
- Work hours between 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, as scheduled by supervisor.
